👉 Some may be engaging with competitors on issues such as rental prices, lease terms and availability through social media, Bureau says
👉 The Bureau warned that engaging in illegal agreements with competitors, “such as price-fixing, market allocation, restricting supply, or wage-fixing and no-poaching agreements,” is a criminal offence under the Competition Act, with potential prison sentences of up to 14 years and hefty fines.

All evacuees in the province are encouraged to register with the Red Cross as soon as possible.
That can be done online at https://www.redcross.ca/2025manitobawildfires
or by calling 1-800-863-6582 (toll-free) between 8 a.m. and 10 p.m. CST.

Congregate shelters have been set up across the province. There are shelters in Winnipeg, Thompson, Winkler and Portage la Prairie.

Provincial emergency social services are working with partners to find shelter for anyone who needs it. The province has also said it is working to free up hotel space in Winnipeg after some residents from Pimicikamak Cree Nation were sent to a hotel in Niagara Falls, Ont.

Evacuees who do not have a place to stay are asked to proceed to the nearest reception centre:

Winnipeg: Billy Mosienko Arena, 709 Keewatin St. — open 24/7.
Brandon: Victoria Inn, 3550 Victoria Ave. — open daily from 10:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Thompson: Burntwood Hotel, 146 Selkirk Ave. — open daily from 10:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Are you an evacuee who needs assistance? Contact Manitoba 211 by calling 211 from anywhere in Manitoba or email 211mb@findhelp.ca.

Manitobans evacuated under a mandatory order are eligible to receive $34 per day for everyone age 13 and older and $27 per day for children 12 and under.
